Petulant I am

I have started to believe that I am an irritable person, I really get irritated too easily with small small things... And it is not just simple irritation, it develops into anger and then I take an action which I later regret.

If I start making a list of things that irritate me, it goes on like this... Fat (fat in the sense proper fat) people irritate me. I feel that they have no other objective in life than to eat. They don't care what they are growing into and cannot resist anything.. they just want everything.... They are often lazy, slow, less energetic, dumb, laid back. People who make noise irritate me. Showoff, weird noises, snoring, dirt, everything irritates me it seems..

Goa

Sitting in office... cannot concentrate at all on my work, can't believe that I've returned from a  fantastic Goa trip just 4 hours back and here I am back to the routine life in front of the 'dabba'.

As I am not able to do anything else, let me just write all about the trip.. So basically it all started with a phone call from Avishek. So one day he calls me up and says, "Yaar Surabhi, New Year pe Goa chalegi", and I asked him the typical question "Kaun kaun jaa raha hai.." and he was like "wo to dekh lenge". Then I asked around in office and slowly our group became bigger and bigger. Finally we were 11 people with 10 from my office and 1 Avishek himself. The plan got pre-poned to mid December instead of New Year

So we did the tickets and booking quite in advance, some 20 days or so. Train tickets were in waiting so we did bus tickets as well, which was a very good decision as the WL was not cleared so we finally went and came back both by bus.

DAY 0: We left Mumbai on 16th December around 8pm from Goregaon East. It was an awesome beginning with sudden hootings and cheers from everyone around. We started playing Mafia and after 2-3 rounds settled down to sleep. Not a very comfortable journey but considering that our destination was Goa, nobody complained much :D

DAY 1: We reached at 9:30AM on 17th Dec and headed straight to the hotel. We stayed at Hotel Lua Nova, just next to Baga Beach. The hotel was much better than expected but that didn't really matter as we were going to spend a lot of time outside. So we changed into our beach-wears and went directly to the beach. First we had breakfast at St. Anthonys and then started with the water sports. Basically, it was a package for 4 sports: Water scooter, banana ride, para sailing and bumpy ride. I enjoyed Para sailing and bumpy ride... rest were just fine. Then had a good time throwing water at each other. The water was extremely salty and produced a really irritating feeling in the throat. Then came back, had a bath, and went out for Arambole beach.

I am editing this draft after more than 2 years and am in no mood to continue it so will just publish as is.

MAD about MADHURI

heyyy I just saw Madhuri Dixit in Inorbit mall... She was standing there in a red sari with no extra make-up looking just like a God sent fairy.. So beautiful I cant explain!! She had that really amazing smile and such an innocent expression on her face..The best part is that yesterday I had put my fb status as  "I love Madhuri.. her smile and her dance" and today I actually get to see her !!! What can a fan ask for more ???
I was waiting for so long with my mobile camera on and as soon as she came I dropped the mobile :( And by the time, I picked it up and switched it on, she had gone.. so no pic :(

OVER

ok.. enough now.. I am over this city's suburban area called Malad West. I am over the cramped buildings with flats that look like matchboxes, I am over the same design of houses with a hall as you enter, then a thin corridor opening to rooms on both sides.. I am over the autowallah saying no to any and every place. God only knows where they want to go, I am over the infinite stacks of stinking waste that is openly kept on streets for spoiling your fresh mood every morning, I am over the sudden downpour... I am over the small lanes with tiny shops on both sides... I am definitely over the slums and the choke they produce in my throat when I look at the kids there.. I am over the sixers begging on the signals.. I am over the whole IT crowd that works in Mindspace.. I am OVER OVER Inorbit ... I am over thinking of what to eat in the office cafeteria.. I am over saying 'How Are You' to people... I am over thinking of what to do on weekends.. I am over thinking of good places to eat... I am (not) over shopping.... and I still love the sea :)

Story IV

There are 2 types of people - Individualistics (I) and Collectivists (V). Basically I's are the one's who seek pleasure within themselves, not that they are Introverts, not at all. They interact in groups, they like hanging out, they also want to be around people but they don't seek approval and security from outside. They are happy being what they are and doing what they do. They like to take decisions without consulting too many people. Generally, these people gel with others nicely but are seldom part of one set group. They are independent thinkers and think that being in a group makes you dependent, bound and restricted.

On the other hand, V's are those that seem to be lost if they are not associated with any group. They want to always be with 'their' people around. Most of their decisions would go through that one group. The are often more flexible and adjusting people. Again, these can be introverts very well or be extremely extroverts.

Now both have their own positives and negatives. Where I's are often fast decision makers, more ambitious in life, they are often perceived as cold, rigid and detached. Similarly Vs are more composed, patient, caring but can be perceived as slow, dependent and too emotional.

Anyways my purpose of writing this blog was that I have identified that Im a big I and just wanted to share my observations...

Golmaal Replay

A true comedy of errors happened with me today... basically when I'm working in office many times it happens that I'm stuck on some issue and as soon as that gets solved, I want to celebrate it like anything.. like a movie or ordering pizza or dinner outside so this time it was movie.. I mailed my friends as to who would want to watch Golmaal-3.... so 4 of us were ready - Synti, Aman, Neelam and me. We went to Inorbit but what do we see.. the ticket is Rs. 280. I mean, 280 would be too much for this movie, we thought. Then Neelam suggested we should go to a nearby movie hall which is not a multiplex or anything and so would be cheaper. Then after some discussion, inertia won and we decided to go with Inorbit but we were late for Golmaal by 15 min. So we decided to watch Action Replay ..( I have started liking Akshay Kumar since Namastey London ). Action Replay was in screen -2. Now as soon as the movie started, Aman started saying its bore its bore, lets go to Golmaal. I was excited by the idea of switching a movie.. and everybody else was also ready so we came out. Now the screens in Inorbit are circular. On the right we had screen 1 and left was Screen -3. We went in 3 .. luckily some seats were empty and we started guessing what would have happened in the movie till now. Suddenly the movie ended!!!! We quickly came out, hiding our faces. Neelam and Synti went back to screen 1. Aman and I moved to Screen -4. Now we were quite confident that we were in the right place. We were enjoying the movie. After 20 min, the movie ended!!! LOL. We rushed out and moved to Screen -5 hoping that this would be corect but found that some other show of Action Replay was going on... Now only 2 screens were left, 6 and 1. Aman said he knew some english movie was going on in screen-6 so we ran towards screen-1. Finally we reached the correct place. This was the Golmaal we were looking for that had started 15 min before Action Replay but itw as already 1.5 hours now. We enjoyed the movie for 10 more minutes and then INTERVAL. But  we knew at least we can see the movie after interval.

Strange that there was nobody stopping us as we were changing places. I had a lot of fun!

I Love You

I can feel you every minute, every moment. When I have no hope left, and I'm depressed and stressed, I look for you. When I'm high up in the sky, in my spirits and feel like the luckiest person on Earth, I remember you and when I'm just sitting alone as I often do, I thank you, I thank you for the life you've given me. I thank you for making me different, infact everyone so different. Sometimes I feel that in this world there is only pretence and there's nobody understands me or perhaps I don't understand anyone. At that time I realise that you love me unconditionally and much more than what I love you.

But, then, why does it happen that I blame you if something goes wrong ? I don't mean to do it! It just happens, maybe because you don't react or say anything. You just listen (maybe smile) on my kiddish behaviour. Why can't I be like that ? I generally get a feeling of revolt if somebody blames me for anything I haven't done!

In class 6 or 7, my English teacher asked "who all don't believe in Him ?" and I had raised my hand. I don't believe it! I love you... God

Continued cont...

So today Ravi and I started catching redundancies from the instructor's first line onwards.. We realized that we had missed a lot of them in the last two days so we had to really concentrate hard.. Here's the collection -

"the second alternative is.."

"you can use any other different operator.."

"one more additional point is that.."

"bifurcated into third type.." (BEST ONE)

"this node will give out as output.."

"we can again re-discuss it.."

"in the later coming part we will cover.."

"either this or either that.."

"let me show you an example with a simple example.." (LOL)

"let me re-repeat the example back for you..." (3-redundancy this is)

"the basic fundamental point to be noted...."

Now that the training has ended.. I feel sad.. I want to again re-attend it back !!

Information Informatica

Today was the 2nd day of my 3-day training on 'Informatica' in office. When my manager had asked me to enrol for this course, I was a bit reluctant. I thought there would be some experienced (old) people and a boring instructor. But it turned out that I'm having quite a lot of fun..

On the first day, one of my batchmates was late so he could not get a system (there were 16 comps in the training room and 20 people enrolled) and so both of us are sharing the same system. So we keep cracking jokes and laughing. On top of that, the instructor is very funny and his English is too too funny.

He started the class by giving us some reading material and then cracked his first PJ - "On this weekend, all of you please give Chetan Bhagat a break and read about Informatica! Don't do a 4th mistake by not reading this!"

He has this problem of redundancy. He doesn't know(s) that the 's' in verbs is avoided when it comes after 'does'. So all the time he keeps using phrases like 'does not works', 'does haves, 'does writes' etc. But the issue is more deep-rooted. Today I noted down all the redundant phrases he used. This is actually quite funny -

'the next one more thing I want to tell is...'

'You can use either of the one...'

'I will ask you to do one single exercise...'

'There can be multiple different sources..'

'There is no point in again recreating...'

'This mapping is bifurcated into two...'

'Lets try a more bigger example...'

BUT THE BEST ONE WAS

'I don't mind re - repeating the concepts !!'

Anyways.. will write if something more happens tomorrow ;)
